Fuelin, TAQA Arabia’s Master Gas Signs MOU to Provide Electronic Payment Services
Cairo-based startup Fuelin for prepaid fuel services has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Master Gas, one of the TAQA Gas companies affiliated with TAQA Arabia, the leading electricity distribution and integrated services company in Egypt.
Through this partnership, Master Gas will provide, through the Fuelin electronic application, electronic payment services to Master Gas customers based on an accurate and simple accounting system using the Fuelin application, which allows control of the working system of cars and connect them to service stations.
Tarek Al-Hawari, Managing Director of TAQA Gas Group, said: “This new partnership supports our vision of the importance of providing the best advanced technological solutions to facilitate the daily transactions of our customers, in line with the Group’s efforts to diversify the scope of energy transmission and distribution services and best meet growing needs thanks to more than 50 stations and 13 conversion centers in prime locations. We have an ambitious plan to increase the number of stations to 108 stations by 2023 and to increase the car conversion rate to over 8000 cars per year.
He added, “This step stems from TAQA Arabia’s interest in the ambitious ideas that emerging businesses present through which they play a vital societal role in achieving development goals and realizing the state’s vision.”
Mohamed Hussein, CEO and co-founder of Fuelin, expressed his joy at entering into this partnership with Master Gas, stressing that it is a first step of its kind.
He added: “We are pleased with our partnership with Master Gas, and see it as an important step that will further spread the Fuelin app. As an emerging company, we have a vision and great expansion plans which we are working to implement by entering into partnerships with various companies that own service stations in Egypt, where we plan to reach 125,000 cars running the app, and we are looking to contract with 2,000 service stations, in addition to contracting with a crowdsourced transport company by the end of 2023.”
Fuelin is the first innovative application in Egypt and the Middle East for companies (transport – logistics – participatory transport companies). The app provides secure and advanced fuel payment services to control and regulate vehicle fueling operations. The application also aims to provide a clear view of business owners, transport service managers and gas station owners on consumption rates in an organized way, as it allows them to control the car fleet and monitor fueling operations via app-designed control panels.
It should be noted that TAQA Arabia, one of Qalaa’s companies, is a pioneer in the energy distribution sector in Egypt, providing its services to cover the daily energy needs of more than 1.7 million customers. TAQA Arabia Group invests in and operates energy infrastructure, including gas transmission and distribution, conventional and renewable electricity generation and distribution, in addition to the marketing of petroleum products and automotive lubricants through its numerous stations – service across the country. The company also provides water treatment and desalination services to a wide range of customers. Through the group’s operating arm, Master Gas, the company operates compressed natural gas car refueling stations and natural gas car conversion centers across the country. In addition to using CNG technology to connect customers outside the natural gas network, becoming the first integrated service company in Egypt and the Middle East.
